The village of Luotuowan, in the Chinese province of Shanxi, has undergone an important process of renewal and technical adaptation in recent years, so that many wooden houses have been replaced by reinforced concrete structures. With the large amount of waste material resulting from renovations, a pergola space has been built, a resting and resting place for the rural community. LUO Studio has designed a reticular structure that exploits the material in the most efficient way possible. The architects say: "the woods recovered from the demolished houses had different lengths. We have not cut or lengthened any of the rods, taking into account the different sizes and finding for each piece its ideal position. "
