La piazza sul Mar Rosso circondata da colonnati alti 20 metri

Studio Seilern Architects ha racchiuso la Gouna Festival Plaza del resort egiziano di El Gouna con tre giganteschi colonnati.

Studio Seilern Architects, con sede a Londra, ha circondato la Gouna Festival Plaza nella località turistica egiziana di El Gouna, sul Mar Rosso, con un trio di colonnati alti 20 metri, al fine di fornire ombra dal sole, riparo dal vento e dividere l’area in diversi spazi.

La piazza, sviluppata per l’imprenditore egiziano-montenegrino Samih Sawiris, proprietario del resort, è stata costruita all’interno di una laguna artificiale e rappresenta il primo stadio del Gouna Conference and Culture Centre, progettato per far diventare la località turistica una destinazione culturale.

Situati su una serie di isole artificiali, tre colonnati a forma di L racchiudono una triade di spazi. La piazza, infatti, è pensata per essere un luogo multifunzionale, in grado di ospitare ogni anno El Gouna Film Festival, eventi sportivi e concerti. Nei prossimi due anni, verranno poi costruiti un centro congressi e una sala concerti da 600 posti, progettati dallo stesso studio.

“Dovrebbe apparire come uno spazio pubblico maestoso e accattivante per eventi come il torneo di Gouna World Squash […], o presentarsi come intimo e accogliente per un matrimonio o una celebrazione, ma anche come un bel luogo tranquillo da visitare nei momenti in cui non è usato per gli eventi,” ha detto Seilern.
