Olivier Ottevaere e John Lin hanno completato la seconda fase di The Pinch, biblioteca e community center per il villaggio di Shuanghe, nel distretto di Yunnan (Cina).

The Pinch: phase II

A novembre 2013 è stata completata la prima fase di The Pinch, biblioteca e community center per il villaggio di Shuanghe, nel distretto di Yunnan (Cina), parte del programma governativo di ricostruzione dopo il terremoto del settembre 2012.

La prima fase del progetto ha visto la realizzazione della struttura, composta da una serie di elementi reticolari ancorati tra il piano stradale superiore e il livello, più basso, della piazza.

L’interno e l’involucro della biblioteca sono stati completati nella seconda fase. Le capriate si estendono verso il basso per sostenere una serie di scaffali appesi. Semplici banchi di scuola sono usati come sedute. Le pareti in policarbonato possono essere aperte per creare un open space che si congiunge alla piazza.
