Swedish manufacturer Cake, known for its electric off-road motorbike Kalk, has partnered with Dometic to create the perfect high-end food delivery vehicle.
The solution envisioned by the two Scandinavian companies is a Ösa bike from Cake, fitted with a new special delivery heat and cold box designed and produced by Dometic and powered by the motorbike’s battery.
The box is a fully connected solution that can let a restaurant track the chain of delivery from the kitchen to a customer’s door, with continuous remote feedback about the temperature inside the box. The box can also be monitored against tampering, a problem that, according to a study cited by Dometic, is a common occurrence for at list 21% of consumers.
Cake has already started receiving orders for Ösa 2021 fitted with Dometic’s box but hasn’t disclosed the price publicly. The first batch of deliveries is expected to arrive on the market in September 2021.
