Hermès’s outstanding Renzo Piano-designed HQs in Tokyo finally used for a fashion show

The French brand’s latest collection also conveys its values through the architectural masterpiece that is its Japanese headquarters.

13,000 squares of glass hosted the latest Hermès fashion show. This is the façade of the house's Japanese headquarters, designed by Renzo Piano's RPBW studio in Tokyo's Ginza district.

The brand presented its Autumn/Winter 2024-2025 menswear collection by transforming the area of the building normally dedicated to sales into a striking catwalk, attracting fashionistas and illustrious guests.

Through the exceptional craftsmanship of the garments, the collection expressed the brand's refined elegance and vitality. Among the most significant pieces was a bomber jacket decorated with the Maison's iconic silk scarf motif, the 'Cheval Punk Bandana'.

Designed in 1998, the Maison Hermès in Tokyo occupies a long and narrow site on the city's main thoroughfare, Harumi-dori. Its fifteen floors are entirely covered by the repetition of a square glass module with a side measuring approximately 43 centimetres. The large transparent volume reflects light during the day and transforms the Maison Hermès into a large lamp at night, a real 'magic lantern'.
