In El Puig, in the Valencian province, the architectural firm Nada is called upon by a family of Chinese origin, to transform an old warehouse into a new restaurant dedicated to Asian fusion cuisine with traditional Mediterranean ingredients. The budget is small but the idea of the client is clear: a place representative of the Asian Mediterranean identity, a restaurant  where the focus is on gastronomy. The designers interpret this theme by playing on the material and chromatic contrasts of a few and studied elements. Concrete walls and floors and perforated bricks to create jealousy - a tribute to Mediterranean architecture - delimit the large room of the restaurant. In this seemingly rough box, objects covered in cobalt blue ceramic give colour and shine to the room, while tables and chairs in beech wood - a reference to Asian architecture - bring warmth and comfort to feel at ease and enjoy the cuisine. "The feeling is similar to being in a cave in the depths of the sea," say the designers. A psychedelic light that shines through the translucent PVC curtain and backlit signage from the bathrooms completes this impressive setting.
