Eating at Voisin Organique is like diving into an otherworldly place

Various Associates designs a farm-to-table restaurant in Shenzhen: dark rooms and light cuts define an unreal scenario inspired by the idea of exploring wild nature.

Voisin Organique, located in Upper Hills in Shenzhen, China, is a farm-to-table restaurant offering traditional Chinese dishes along with fine dining experiences. The space, designed by Various Associates, includes a lounge area and a dining area separated by an L-shaped corridor and a 110 square metre kitchen. “Wandering in the valleys”, seen as a free exploration of wild nature, is what inspired the space, filled with an atmosphere belonging to another world.

The foggy environment with bronze tones of the bar is illuminated by the light entering from very small holes facing the street, used as a connection between exterior and interior. The fine dining area, marked by black furniture and rough walls, is instead a dark space, shattered only by the presence of a skylight and the concave red shape created on the ceiling.
