Exhibited at Museo della Ceramica in Savona, Hans Engels’ photographs are dedicated to Bauhaus, that celebrates this year its 100th anniversary. Active since 1919 in Weimar, Germany, the famous school of art, design and architecture is the protagonist of the exhibition that opens today, November 21, in the Ligurian city, and will be open until January 12, 2020. The photos taken by the German photographer show the buildings designed by Bauhaus teachers and students in 6 different European countries, for a total of 54 shots. The research explores the architectural movement by capturing in images the restored and abandoned, the known and forgotten works, tracing a complete vision of the condition of Bauhaus buildings nowadays. The aim of the collection is not only to show the “beautiful architecture”, but also to reflect on the “need for the restoration of the modern”, as underlined by architects Simone Bruzzone and Alberto Moras, coordinators of the exhibition for the Culture Commission of the Order of Architects.
