Faci Leboreiro studio converted a 15 sqm office space into an ephemeral candy shop. Designed during Design Week Mexico 2020 (7-31 October 2020), Sweet & Sour is located inside a house from the 1940s, in the new headquarters of Público Coworking in Lomas de Chapultepec, Mexico. The four-storey office building, in collaboration with Design House – a collective project for architects and designers – hosts temporary, creative rooms interpreted by various professionals.
The studio transforms the mini-space into an area for the sale and display of candy: pastel colours in lilac tones meet the white marble of the central counter and a sugar paper pavement with a velvet effect. On one side curved floor-to-ceiling panels enclose transparent tubes containing about 15,000 candies, on the other a mirrored wall visually amplifies the space. The candy shop was built in 14 days.
