On the island of Zeeburgereiland, an industrial area now converted into a residential district on the eastern outskirts of Amsterdam, GG-loop develops a building inspired by biophilic design. In the philosophy of the studio, the balance between the environment and the inhabitants can be pursued through sustainable construction, attentive to the psychophysical well-being of the people.

The distribution of the external wooden planks, a distinctive element of this architecture, has been optimized through the collection of data on the annual passage of the sun on the lot, ensuring the best exposure to light. The fluid development of the louvers is also found in the plan of the two apartments, where curves and straight lines are balanced in favour of an organicist aesthetic that supports the passage flows of the inhabitants.
The nautical design is also a source of technical inspiration and at the same time an opportunity to reconnect with local history. It is no coincidence, in fact, that the name chosen for the project - "Freebooter" - becomes for GG-loop a tribute to those Dutch sailors who once chose the crews destined to undertake long and perilous sea voyages.
