Paris, conference on rationalism in architecture

Rationalism in architecture – from Viollet Le Duc to Sullivan. This is the central theme of an international study day to be held in Paris on Wednesday 11 December which examines rationalism, from its beginnings with the theories of Viollet Le Duc and the theoretical courses of Anatole de Baudot up to its actual development by a number of French and American architects, including Louis Sullivan.

The conference, which follows on from a meeting organised in December three years ago, has been organised by the Musée des Monuments Français and coordinated by Dominique de Font-Réaulx of the Musée d’Orsay.
