Milan prepares for a summer of cinema d’auteur, where masterpieces of the past come together with the most innovative contemporary voices. The Cinema Godard at the Prada Foundation will become an arena of dreams and of reflection, with a programme that will win the hearts of lovers of the seventh art.
A journey to explore the most important works from the current cinema season. Among the titles not to be missed, in the “Selezione” section, for lovers of Iranian cinema, is “Fremont” by Babak Jalali (30 June), a film that offers an intimate view of the life of a young immigrant, while on 21 June, “Gloria!” by Margherita Vicario, transports us into a colourful and vibrant universe.
For fans of the classics, the #Flashback section is a veritable treasure trove. From 5 to 14 June, there will be an opportunity to relive timeless classics such as “2001: A Space Odyssey”, by Stanley Kubrick, and “Apocalypse Now - Final Cut”, by Francis Ford Coppola. There will also be gems such as “Asteroid City” by Wes Anderson, and “Blade Runner - The Final Cut”, by Ridley Scott, for an unforgettable dive into the past.
The Cinema Godard is also an experimental workshop that creates new forms of narration and explores the confines of cinema. The #Studio section offers a series of encounters with directors, writers and artists to further explore the language of cinema and discover new viewpoints.
The summer at the Cinema Godard is an all-round sensory experience, a journey through space and time to explore the power of cinema. It is an invitation to dream, to reflect and to be moved by the magic of the big screen.
