BIG has unveiled the Qianhai Prisma Towers in Shenzhen, China. The two skyscrapers – 300 and 250 meters tall, and conceived as simple and elegant prisms – will rise on either side of the Shenzhen Hong Kong Plaza, designed by Japanese studio Sou Fujimoto and known as the “green belt”.

The taller skyscraper will contain apartments, while the other office spaces. A suspended pedestrian walkway will shade the public spaces below, which include an amphitheater, trees, and a bar under the porch. An underground retail corridor will connect the two towers directly to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Intercity Railway and the new Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Express Railway. There will also be 966 bike parking spaces to facilitate access to public transport stations.

The ground floor of both towers is lined with a series of ripple patterns, which recalls the near Qianhai Bay. The construction works are set to begin in 2025.
