During the last edition of Stockholm Design Week, Swedish studio Note Design has presented Hook, a lightweight, simple cycle stand for design manufacturer Nola.
Recognising the cycle stand as a functional staple of contemporary urban life, present in most urban landscapes today, Note sought to create a cycle stand that would function as a bold detail in the surrounding urban backdrop, while keeping its basic function and discreetness.
Hook has a dual nature: viewed from the front, the broad, colourful metal band can be easily distinguished, while its narrow width streamlines its shape when viewed from the side. The cycle stand in currently available in orange, pastel blue or light grey, creating a choice in order to make the cycle stand more visible or enabling it to
melt into the background.
The Hook cycle stand was presented in the context of Note's Open 2013, a concept space during Stockholm Design Week developed in collaboration with Fabege, which took the shape of a pop-up office and exhibition inside an old bulb factory.
