"Small spaces usually need more integration gestures, they have to be easy on the eyes” says Francesc Rifé about Apartamento Luz, his latest renovation project in Barcelona. This was the approach, that of integrating, making a whole, uniting under a warm skin of wood, light and occasional transparent surfaces the domestic space of a small flat, in order to transform it into a generous and refined place to live. The small size of the house has led to an integrated design of the parts, where the simple but sophisticated design of the furniture, conceived as a device able to perform multiple functions, becomes one with the partitions, the walls and the accesses, generating an extended and enveloping space without any sort of constriction.
