In Kennebunk, Maine, the Brooklyn-based agency An Aesthetic Pursuit takes up the "Shoppable Stay" formula to rethink an old country residence of 280 square meters, now used as a holiday home. The vacation becomes a prelude to the eventual purchase of their Pieces collection, a line of carpets, tables and accessories, here complemented by other furnishings and accessories selected from Vitra's catalogue and Alvar Aalto’s masterpieces for Artek.

The interiors use patterns, geometries and colors to create an impact solution that, although potentially "polarizing" – as the founders of An Aesthetic Pursuit themselves admit when they talk about their exquisitely pop touch - evokes a fresh and dynamic pop identity. In the large living room on the ground floor, a sinuous 18-meter long corrugated carpet acts as a catalyst for the entire environment, connecting the entrance and the kitchen and impressing a single optical line on the entire living area. The seating area makes the contrast between square and convex lines its strong point, combining Jasper Morrison Soft Modular Sofa, here upholstered in lilac, with the carpet and central ottomans with marble top.
The combination of powder blue hues, enlivened by studied accents in coral red, animate the bedrooms upstairs and the bathrooms, where large patterned terrace tiles cover the entire corner of the bathtub. In scattered order, stools and vases prop up the space, outlining a renewed domestic intimacy.
