With the project for the Silvia & Diego house, studio MH.AP was confronted with an apartment in Barcelona that was already strongly characterized at the outset, by the numerous Nolla mosaics – a decorative milestone of modernism – in the floors and by the ceiling moldings: the decision was to enrich such discourse with a new narrative of space, generating a new continuity between the rooms of the house. Floors and ceilings intersect to form an enveloping interior space, where the architecture is defined by a palette of a few colors and recurring wooden elements.

Starting from the living room, an oak wood paneling traces the new scenario of the room, extending throughout the whole house, taking on thickness and welcoming wardrobes and doors.
The kitchen becomes a sculptural space: the worktop in the center of the room moves the space and dialogues with the curvilinear shapes of the blue false ceiling. The stone covering the sink and the worktop reflects the white floor, while we find shelves and full-height wardrobes all along the walls, closed or open from time to time, to enhance differently the continuity with the adjacent rooms .
Continuing along the corridor, the two-tone effect stands out in the contrast between the passage spaces and the bathroom, conceived as a salmon-colored high relief, where the blue remains on the ceiling, highlighting the light color of the walls and the sink. An arched mirror adds the room's only decorative element, uniting the two-tone effect.
Minimal elements for the bedroon as well: the boiserie is lowered, drawing the edge of the bed, which rests on a floor where the Nolla mosaic creates the final decorative carpet of the house.
