An occasion for a new exhibition dedicated to Frank Gehry is offered with the tenth anniversary of the Weisman Art Museum, designed by the Canadian architect in 1993 (the year before the Guggenheim in Bilbao) in Minneapolis, within the University of Minnesota.

A small project by the standards of recent commissions but nevertheless an important one in Gehry’s career: it was his first museum to be built and the first to be clad in metal. What is more it marked the start of the building of the new university campus and for the Californian practice, a long and successful series of museums around the world. It is to these projects (both built and otherwise) that the exhibition is dedicated: from the project for the New York Guggenheim (abandoned because of being too expensive) to the Experience Music Project in Seattle, all presented with models, blow ups of the interiors and exteriors, all round views showing the context, samples of materials and a series of videos created on computer.
