At CES 2023, Augsburg-based German Bionic unveiled its latest and most advanced exoskeleton to date, the Apogee. The new robotic suit is designed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear for longer periods.
Despite its size and weight, the device can help the worker by lifting up to 30 kg at every movement. Thanks to its features, the Apogee can be employed in several workplace scenarios, such as logistics, construction, or physical care.
Moreover, the exoskeleton can support the worker in tasks involving static holds and walking and can be customized with accessories that would fit it better to specific tasks. Like other German Bionic products, the Apogee integrates with the company’s IO platform. Thanks to this software integration, the companies’ data teams can collect real-time information on workers’ performance and health to optimize safety management and processes around the workers’ well-being.
According to German Bionic, this new generation of exoskeletons is a game changer for heavy-duty occupations. By addressing issues like over-exertion and risk of injury, they contribute to workers’ safety and the general appeal of hard, physically-demanding jobs, indirectly reducing the workers’ shortage problem in heavy-duty sectors.
The Apogee is a lightweight exoskeleton for heavy workers, also designed to prevent injuries
Developed by German Bionic, the new AI-controlled suit can increase workers’ long-term safety in physically demanding environments.
