Leica has unveiled a new special edition of its CL camera to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the famous Bauhaus. It’s called Leica CL “100 jahre bauhaus” and it’s a tribute from one of the most renown German brands to the school of arts that defined modernism through art and design. The camera keeps the same basic features as the traditional CL model, such as 24-megapixel sensor, fast autofocus and 4K video recording. The kit lens is a silver Elmarit-TL 18mm f/2.8 ASPH. To highlight the connection with the Bauhaus anniversary, the historic logo is embossed into the camera’s leather covering.
Only 150 units of the new Leica CL “100 jahre bauhaus” will be produced. They will be available exclusively in Leica Stores and boutiques worldwide, starting May 27th, with a price tag of £2944.
