HP’s new premium convertible laptop has a 24-hour battery life, Wi-Fi 6 and the world’s highest screen-to-body ratio for its category. And most important it’s the first PC that uses ocean-bound plastics, even if only in a speaker enclosure. It’s not the company’s first effort with recycled plastics, and it follows the HP EliteDisplay E273d and ink cartridges. HP has sourced more than 35 million plastic bottles from Haiti for its products.

“Our circular economy strategy is about shifting our production to eliminate waste and enable a system that can sustain our levels of consumption in harmony with nature and our singular planet Earth for generations to come,” says Ellen Jackowski, Global Head of Sustainability Strategy & Innovation, HP Inc. The company announces that recycled plastics will be used in more upcoming products, like the new Elite and Pro desktop and notebook computers lineups. The aim is to use 30% recycled plastic by 2025.
