World Press Photo, the renowned photojournalism and documentary photography competition, has revealed the 42 winning images of 2025. These were chosen from approximately 60,000 submissions by nearly 4,000 photographers from 141 countries. The awarded photographs offer original perspectives on key contemporary issues, from wars to the climate crisis, capturing protests in Kenya, Myanmar, Haiti, El Salvador, and Georgia, the rise of new political figures in Germany and the United States, as well as the celebration of Pride in a secret location in Lagos and moments of interaction with various animal species. The winner of the World Press Photo of the Year and the two finalists will be announced on April 17 during the opening of the Flagship World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.
