Philippe Starck designed F1 racing motorhome for team Alpine

Inspired by the design of Alpine chalets, the new travelling wood and steel structure of the French F1 team designed by Starck is one of a kind.

BWT Alpine F1 team unveiled their new motorhome designed by the renowned French architect and designer Philippe Starck, who was in charge of the art direction of the overall project. Drawing inspiration from the elegant atmosphere of the chalets on the Alps, the motorhome features three floors that will host Alpine’s partners, guests, media and team personnel during European races, blending cutting-edge engineering with sustainable technology.

It is not an object, nor architecture, it is all about speed.

While the nature-inspired interiors present wood and bark elements, the external structure comprises custom-made steel frames and mirror finish glass panels, with a front façade enriched with satin stainless streel crossbar details. Supported by Alpine's Investor Group, the motorhome also integrates sustainable technologies and aims to align with Alpine’s growth strategy.

“The inspiration for the motorhome is the spirit of Alpine itself”, explains Starck. “Alpine has this French je-ne-sais-quoi, it is the haute couture of racing. The motorhome represents this elegance. It is not an object, nor architecture, it is all about speed. Its conception and construction work in the same way of a pitstop; everyone knows exactly what they have to do, and they do it with extreme speed and precision. All elements factor this in. It is incredibly complex, high-tech and challenging”.
