Opening at Via della Spiga 42, in the Quadrilatero della Moda district, in Milan, is the inaugural flagship store of Marsèll, a brand known for its artisanal footwear and accessories made in Italy and always in dialogue with art and culture.

The project brief had the sole request of envisioning a space that combined the modulation of environments by Marcel Breuer and the suspended atmospheres of Carlo Scarpa. After eight months of collaboration between the brand and the Berlin-based Lotto Studio, a modern, comfortable, and at the same time solemn space emerged. Spread over 400 square meters on two levels, the space “stages the entire repertoire of Marsèll creations”.

Additionally, a basement floor will be used to host meetings, exhibitions, and conferences. The room, characterized by long terraces that outline a central area, served as an exhibition space and is accessed through a large staircase that houses a walnut library conceived as a “permanent artwork” and serves as a connecting element between the floors. A system of curtains has been designed to divide the spaces flexibly as needed.
