Tom Ford buys Jackie Kennedy’s summer house for $52 million

The Arts-and-Crafts residence in the Hamptons was built in 1917 and renovated in 2018 by Pierre Yovanovitch.

After buying buildings designed by Tadao Ando and Richard Neutra, Tom Ford recently bought the historic property of Jackie Kennedy in East Hampton for $52 million.

As a child, the former First Lady spent summers in this 8,500-square-foot Arts and Crafts-style mansion by the Atlantic Ocean, then owned by her grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier Jr.
The Bouviers named the estate “Lasata”, which in the Algonquian language of the local native tribe Montauk means “place of peace”.

Built in 1917 by New York architect Arthur C. Jackson, Lasata was restored in 2007 by fashion designer Reed Krakoff and his wife, interior designer Delphine Krakoff. In 2018, producer David Zander bought the property for $24 million and had it renovated by French architect Pierre Yovanovitch.

The property is composed of 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms and has a two-bedroom guest cottage, a caretaker’s dépendance, a pool house, and a three-car garage.
