The tallest skyscraper in Japan, 330 meters high, was completed in central Tokyo, passing the previous title holder – Abeno Harukas in Osaka – by 30 meters. However, the building is already expected to be surpassed by another skyscraper in 2027 constructed by Mitsubishi Estate Co. near Tokyo Station.
The Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower building, designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners, marks a significant step in the completion of the Azabudai Hills complex, the redevelopment of Minato Ward, a district that features luxury condominiums and tall office buildings, expected to open during the fall.
With 64-story above ground and 5 under, the multipurpose skyscraper houses offices, shops, restaurants, an art gallery and a museum, a medical institution operated by Keio University, the British School, and on its upper floors branded hotel residences with spa and other exclusive services, such as a fitness club.
