Rossinavi, the independent superyacht manufacturer in Italy, celebrate ZHA’s yacht design with its introduction of the Oneiric at Fuorisalone, in Milan, during the exhibit “BluE, The Underwater Experience,” an educational installation devoted to phytoplankton.
Oneiric is a 144 feet electric catamaran, which manages its energy consumption thanks to artificial intelligence. The robot shipmate also provides navigation advice according to environmental impact. According to Rossinavi, Oneiric can handle slightly more than two thirds of a transatlantic voyage using its solar power.
Rossinavi replaced the conventional yacht monohull with a more efficient catamaran shape in order to maximize the usefulness of the electric battery pack. Photovoltaic panels continually charge Oneiric’s battery during daylight hours and the onboard AI monitors energy consumption and battery status. Oneiric can complete a day trip entirely in electric mode, which equates fewer carbon and noise emissions to harm the atmosphere and ocean habitats.
The sinuous yacht designed by ZHA appears as a single line that rises from the sea to an aluminum hull, and snakes up and around three levels. Flowing and continues lines characterize also the ship’s interiors, finished largely in lightweight, high-performing recycled and recyclable materials.
