BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group unveiled the new project for the completion of Milan’s CityLife district. The historic urban centre of Fiera di Milano, now in a process of deep transformation, will be further modified with the construction of two office buildings connected by a roof that acts as a gateway to the CityLife area. And not only that. The roof also defines a public covered space that includes urban furniture and green spaces. The Danish architecture studio contributes to the process of urban regeneration of the neighborhood, along with other important names such as Zaha Hadid, Arata Isozaki and Daniel Libeskind.

With a surface area of 53,000 square meters, the structure is conceived to accommodate private offices and public spaces. The structure will be over 200 meters long, characterized by a continuous facade, bright and large interior spaces and panoramic terraces on the top. Construction work is scheduled for 2021 and to be completed in 2023. According to Armando Borghi, CEO of CityLIfe, the building “will add a new element to the definition of CityLife”.
