Cosentino presents Let’s Design, a competition of ideas aimed at architects, interior and furniture designers working in Italy. The aim of the contest, which can be entered until the 28th of February, is to develop and explore themes linked to the transformation of domestic environments. 

The request is for the design of furnishing accessories using Dekton, an ultra-compact surface created by the Cosentino Group from a sophisticated mixture of glass, porcelain materials and quartz. A material characterised by high mechanical resistance to chemical agents, ultraviolet rays and extreme temperatures. The complements must be designed for one of the four domestic environments proposed – kitchen, bathroom, living area and outdoor.

The candidates will be selected by Luca Fois, Creative Advisor and lecturer at the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano, who will select the interesting profiles for the second phase of the competition.

The proposals will then be evaluated by a jury composed of Luca Fois, Antonio Morlacchi – IoArch director – Loredana Mascheroni –Domus managing editor – Carlotta Marelli – Deputy Digital Managing Editor of Elledecor.it – and Roberto Franceschin – Country Manager Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia for Cosentino. 

During Milan Design Week (6-12 June 2022), inside Cosentino City Milano in Piazza Fontana 6, 3 finalists will be announced for each category: visitors will be able to vote for the best project using an online and paper-based system. Joe Bastianich, testimonial of the brand in Italy for 2022, will also vote. 

The 4 finalist projects, announced in autumn 2022, will become prototypes made of Dekton® and will be exhibited throughout the year in the showroom.
