In the exhibition “Every Day Theatre”, the constructional compositions of de Vylder Vinck Tailleu inhabit the two floors of Betts project’s gallery. The abstract reinterpretation of everyday objects and elements – such as a fire place, a lantern, an air con unit, a bench – through red, blue, green and black stripes, stand on the backdrop of the white walls and wooden flooring of the gallery.
This space therefore becomes an interior where the everyday unfolds in abstract form, speaking the architectural language of de Vylder Vinck Tailleu. The objects on show are the result of a series of actions such as adding, erasing, grafting, overlapping, juxtaposing and crafting. The production of drawings and sculptures as accretive objects have always been part of the research of the practice. This methodological approach is the tool to investigate architecture as a multi-layered phaenomena. The exhibition therefore narrates of the conceptual and material work characterising de Vylder Vinck Tailleu’s identity.
