Street food furniture in Mexico becomes fancy

There’s almost no street food restaurant in Mexico that doesn’t have a Coca-Cola chair or table. Jorge Diego Etienne takes the ‘tradition’ to the next level.

Monterrey-based designer Jorge Diego Etienne designed a full collection of Coca-Cola furniture for street food and local fast food restaurants in Mexico. The project was commissioned by Arca Continental, the second largest Coca-Cola bottler in Latin America and one of the most important in the world, as part of the “Experiencias, Comer y Beber” project in over 670 restaurants in fourteen states in Mexico.

Apart form the evergreen metal tables and chairs, the collection is a playful mix of stools, flower vases, high bar tables, garden benches and menu boards. Part of Etienne’s strategy was to help the owners of the restaurants with a furniture series that would make their diners feel comfortable. The design was carried out after analyzing the different clientele profiles and habits.
