IITM Architect renovated an old building in the historic center of Moscow. The Shishka Bar accommodates up to eighty people, with ceilings elevated to almost six meters high that gave the possibiliy to divide the space in differen levels. The design core sits in the elaborated wooden structure that covers the walls and ceiling.

A building in central Moscow was renovated by IITM Architect to create the Shishka Bar, an place filled with custom made wooden structures that cover walls and ceilings like a nest.

The architectural studio added a second floor and expanded the basement in order to have three fully-fledged floors. To do so they had to demolish all the existing lift slabs and erect them once again. The roof became accessible and two staircases were added, one of which leads directly to the roof. All the interior elements were handmade using Birch plywood, Pine wood. Floors were covered in porcelain stoneware for a durable effect. All windows guarantee thermal insulation since temperatures might drop to 20 degrees below zero.
