A sushi restaurant project, located in a quiet residential area. Needless to point out the importance of the counter in sushi restaurants, Sushi Mutsuka aimed to create a simple and neutral atmosphere surrounding the counter to stage the chef and his dishes.

A solid panel of ginkgo was used for the counter, and the hand-crafted traces have been intentionally left on the original terrazzo tiles made from crushed black slate and polished to give a tone of accent to the entire interior feeling.

The same type of tiles made with red-slate were used for the back ground of the table space. Long Oregon Pines were used for the flooring, frosted glass were used for the facade and partitions for an adequate amount of blind areas to create an atmosphere were people can relax and enjoy they meals.
