Studio Roso: Mirror Branch

For D Museum’s inaugural exhibition “Spatial Illumination – 9 Lights in 9 Rooms” Studio Roso created with light and mirrors a playful effect that extends beyond the physical volume.

Daelim’s D Museum unveils Mirror Branch, a major new installation by Danish designers Rolf Knudsen and Sophie Nielsen.

This recent addition to the museum’s permanent collection has been presented at D Museum’s inaugural exhibition “Spatial Illumination – 9 Lights in 9 Rooms”.

The “Branch” could be thought of as a symbol of the sensibility and the practice of Studio Roso. Crafted from thousands of mirrored stainless steel shapes, it creates playful effects that extend beyond the physical volume. Shadows and light interplay with the surroundings, projecting a seductive puzzle of reflections reminiscent of familiar yet profoundly beautiful forms and shapes that dwell in nature.

Roso recreates the experience of the “extraordinary” by drawing out the hidden potential in everyday materials. Their site-specific work creates a dramatic transformation of the space, radiating the ephemeral nature of our environment.
