Moving on from his successful anarchist show in Milan last April, Maarten Baas will be presenting his dynamic installation Mr. Baas and friends. Dirk van der Kooij will be there with products from his new recycling press. Mieke Meijer embarks on a new direction for the design of the outdoor space. Talented Lilian van Daal shows her graduation work: a 3D printed soft seated chair.
Low Motion, an installation from designers Jesse Visser, Thomas Eurlings, Geke Lensink and the fashion label Youasme Measyou, invites you to reflect on the role of products in our society. Jeanine Eek Keijzer & Piet Hein Eek, Kiki van Eijk & Joost van Bleiswijk, Claire Vos & Roderick Vos, Petra Janssen & Edwin Vollebergh, design couples, who share both their lives and their work, each developed a Dutch Landscape rug for the exclusive label ICE. Creatives such as BCXSY, Nienke Sybrandy and RenS will be collaborating with participants from other economic and social sectors in the Kazerne Lab, taking a fresh look from a different angle to find new perspectives and innovative answers to current questions. This is more practical than it might sound: for example, to appeal to a new target group, BCXSY will be working with sheltered workshop Twinkelbel to develop a new aesthetic for their hand-painted ceramics.
