The new, Fabio Novembre-designed HitGallery concept store in Hong Kong is the first of a series of stores born out of a collaboration between Italian apparel manufacturer Ittierre and Studio Novembre. "Upon entering the space, visitors will promptly notice the strong Italian imprint of the architectural design's classical matrix," states Studio Novembre. "Symmetrical structure, row of arches, one dominant hue offset by two tone flooring." Once inside the space, the perception of space reveals asymmetry and non-linearity. Evoking Italian piazzas, the arcades are in fact differently proportioned, emphasising the small space's symbolic dimension.
A specific colour invades and defines the walls — a neutral shade hovering between green and sky, cerulean blue — in an effort to unify the space and become the ideal backdrop for all the diverse, eclectic brands present in the store.
In the centre of the space, two large busts are revealed, facing each other. "These give the space a touch of irrationality," states Studio Novembre, "and allow visitors to wonder and question their own origin." The designers sought to create two figures that evoke the figure of the sphynx, "halfway between science fiction and archeology", in order to give the space a timeless aspect.

For apparel manufacturer Ittierre, the Milan-based designer has created a concept store inspired by the classical matrix of Italian architecture: a symmetrical structure, a row of arches, one dominant hue offset by two tone flooring.
