“the Seed” is a multi-purpose activity center in Istanbul within the structure of the Sakip Sabanci Museum situated on Bosphorus in a total area of 1,700 m2. The word "seed" is associated with birth, life, growth, future. The first three letters of the seed, "see" will make all aware of the artistic and cultural activities, conferences and meetings.

Architect Nevzat Sayin’s aim was a hidden architecture to protect the nature and the historical landscape of the Bosphorus. The Project team managed to hide it under the old museum garden terrace, so if you are not very close to ‘the Seed’ it is quite difficult to see. ’It’s a place to bring to light to the Bosphorus more than being itself.’
You find a long terrace in front of the Seed to realize this contact. ‘We have ventured to be squeezed in the middle of the terraces and the old walls. While we were emptying the rocks and the ground, the steel building was manufactured in the atelier. It has been assembled as a boat at his place. In this way we have shortened also the period of the construction.’ (the Project team)
When you enter into the building you find the yellow ‘seed’ in front of you in the foyer. Inside the yellow ‘seed’ you find a black shell which has been constructed with acoustic panells, the sliding pavement and the sliding stage for different uses.
