Wooden houses in Nizhny Novgorod

Wooden houses from 19th - early 20th centuries, some of them with wood-carvings on the facades and stucco moldings in the interior, in the center of Nizhny Novgorod and in other Russian cities, are gradually abandoned and demolished: the land is needed for modern edifices. In this way, old cities are losing their historic image.
