A shop that doesn’t look like a commercial space, but like a domestic environment: in the rooms of Anim House, in Istanbul, visitors can find living room, kitchen and bedroom. A terrace completes the project by multidisciplinary studio Sanayi313 Architects, located in one of the historic Row Houses built in 1874 by architect Sarkis Balyan by order of Sultan Abdulaziz.
The domestic character of the interior defines the 125 square metre duplex, leaving space for the discreet display of the brand’s fabrics. The composition of the rooms, the choice of colours and furnishings reflect the optimistic vision of life that is the basis of Anim House: light-filled rooms, bright colours and natural materials are chosen to represent the brand’s philosophy. The kitchen, on the first level, has custom-made shelves and drawers, in addition to tiles in shades of white, yellow, orange and brown behind the sink.
Design classics also stand out in the showroom: the Leonardo table by Achille Castiglioni for Zanotta, Mezzadro by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, and the MR10 chair by Mies van der Rohe in the kitchen. The upstairs bedroom includes shelves that serve as display units and a rattan bed to showcase the night collection.
The totally white terrace is covered with tiles on which a decoration inspired by the work of Spanish architect Antonio Bonet Castellana has been created. Two Sling Lounge Chairs by Hannah Morrison for Knoll, ideal for sunbathing, complete the outdoor environment.
