In the neighborhood of Roma Norte in Mexico City, the architecture and design studio Esrawe converts a 1950's ballroom, an atypical warehouse if compared to the buildings in the area, into its new headquarters. Stripped of any false ceiling, the space brings to light the old wooden beams and finds in the essential choice of metal and concrete cladding a key to convey the studio’s identity in a sober and industrious environment.
The organization of the work enhances fluidity through the formula of the open space. On the sides, cork panels and shelving offer constant visibility to the projects in progress and to the archives, leaving drawings, samples and prototypes as inspiration for all members of the studio. On the first floor, the area is conceived as a space for socializing, offering a chance for relaxing and letting the solar character of the place and its inhabitants emerge.
