Designed by Yebin Design studio, Conemoting Market is a new retail space in Shenzhen, the first in its area to embrace the concept store formula. Located in a residential neighborhood built in the '90s, the environment is divided between the basement, used for the sale of clothes and products by independent brands, and the ground floor, used as a café and, in the evening, as a bar.
The rough aesthetics of the room is dampened by the insertion of large white niches, which give rhythm to the space through the hybridization of parallelepipeds with large bubbles that impose themselves on the rarefied selection of goods. The choice of metal components highlights a rhythmic veining: chrome-plated metal pipes chase each other on the ceiling, while customized furnishings, such as the hand-shaped chair, add a figurative touch. In a desaturated background, the calibrated use of red imposes itself as an energetic chromatic register.
On the ground floor, a tempered glass in shades of red and yellow divide the dining area, creating a psychedelic environment. Crossing the two levels, the maxi sculpture of a giraffe introduces an ironic and naive presence, connecting the space with its main target audience, the young public, and emphatizing the taste of a generation, the Asian one, that still seems to be fascinated by a hyperbolic image, far from everyday life and its horizons of normality.
