A brewery by the Castiglionis

The theme—a luxury pub—allowed for scenographic play. The late-19th century references in the design of all the forms are not implied but are actually at the heart of the show, which is played out in this key. Might we say that, in this way, the Castiglioni brothers, by transforming this taste for stylistic evocation into formal play, have, in some way, emptied or exceeded the controversy elicited by it?

The stylized wooden silhouettes contrast the other show—the exposed mechanical systems on the ceiling that can be likened to a taste for vintage cars: a suspended mechanic's shop.

All seating is in booths aligned in rows on three levels (from +0 to +2.40). In addition to saving space, this creates a pleasant impression of "travelling" in a train compartment or by boat (a slow journey evoked by the style of the forms). The presence of the other guests is a performance that can be viewed from the perspective created by the different levels.

The bar and cafeteria, accessed through the space's interior (a tunnel with a low-ceiling, curious seating attached to the cafeteria counter with very high backs) adjoin the pub and restaurant. The kitchen and service/storage areas are directly connected to the street by a corridor under the restaurant's highest level.
