A regenerated product, with no waste contamination: ReLife is the green curtain by Medit (a company specialised in the production of high performance curtains), made with a completely regenerated nylon thread, ECONYL®.
The resulting fabric offers multiple possibilities: conceived for residential, hotel, interior and exterior use, it is available in gauze, canvas, fil coupé, leno and jacquard designs.
The peculiarity of the fabric is the renewal of the material, rather than its simple reuse: an operation that helps to eliminate various industrial phases and to give rise to a circular process that does not use new resources.
Nylon is recovered from waste – fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpets and industrial plastics from landfills and oceans – which are selected and cleaned. Nylon is recycled down to its basic components through a polymerisation process, resulting in a material that has the same characteristics and quality as standard nylon. After transformation into yarn and then into a finished product, the thread can be regenerated again.
Colour shades include natural white obtained without dyeing, as well as 10 organic Azo free colour variants, inspired by nature, the sea and the colours of water.
Medit took part in Milan Design Week 2021, in The Playful Home – la Casa del PresenteFuturo, a former hat factory in Via Savona.
