Ethimo's latest collection is all about weaves

Inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of Eastern Spain and patios, the new collection designed by Studio Zanellato/Bortotto reimagines the aesthetics of comfort.

The inspiration comes from Andalusian patios, open yet enclosed spaces, secret yet revealed, framed by arches and enriched with fountains and lush vegetation. Paying homage to these places in both name and weave, Ethimo's new collection offers original and comfortable furniture, where the elegance of teak blends with the beauty of the interlacing.

The signature is by Studio Zanellato/Bortotto, who worked on the signs and patterns to create enveloping lines that welcome the body in a comfortable embrace. What characterizes the collection is the unique weave that recalls the traditional patterns of the Eastern area, an ancient craft still used today to create baskets, trays, and other objects.

"The Patio collection was born from our passion for the variety of weaves and patterns discovered during our travels. We created a series of designs thinking of them as three-dimensional surfaces that could become both decoration and structure for a range of outdoor seating," said Studio Zanellato/Bortotto.

The woven pattern is built on a frame of gray rope through a new arch-shaped weave defined in shades of blue, and can be found in both lounge and dining pieces. The lounge collection includes the armchair, sofa, daybed, hammock, and coffee tables, the latter characterized by a glazed lava stone top available in two shades: mist or moss green. The cushions for the seats are large and enveloping, in tones of sand and sea, while the decorative cushions are inspired by the colors of Mediterranean flora.

For dining, the designers envisioned two tables, one round and one oval. The tops are made of Cipollino marble and travertine in vein, and the bases are inspired by nautical ropes that wrap around the spools usually found along the docks. Made of teak, they are embraced by the blue rope that characterizes the entire collection. Completing the set are the armchairs with padded cushions that echo the arch weave of the other seating.

In the perfect balance between tradition and new morphologies, the Patio collection is comfort transformed into design for outdoor living.
