Emotional Bauci: a kinetic reinterpretation of the Invisible City

One of Italo Calvino’s 55 Invisible Cities turns into a fantastic gear made of toys and carillons that invites you to react to change.

Emotional Bauci is the new work by Francesco Lipari / OFL Architecture for “MIRABILIA”, the exhibition on Calvino’s Invisible Cities curated by Antilia Gallery in Bitonto, Puglia, Southern Italy. Among waste materials derived from toys and musical instruments, plants, carillons and 3D prints, the installation shapes up to be a great gear that wants to be a tribute to Jean Tinguely’s work.

Activated by a pedal for electric guitars, this mechanism that Lipari defines as a “kinetic architecture of integration” that combines different media, intends to metaphorically represent the reorganization, even cerebral, we are all forced to do in order to adapt and resist a world in continuous change.

This emotional reinterpretaion of Bauci, the on stilts-city that floats into the clouds, raises a new perspective: to react to change with knowledge.
