The living room of this apartment has a view of the nearby ocean and houses a piano for the family. The subdivision, created by Bean Buro, draws inspiration from the secret waterfall of Pok Fu Lam, discovered during a visit to the site. The idea of ​​running water naturally escaping from rocks has become a metaphor for juxtaposed elements. The first element is a blue and curvilinear volume that covers half of the apartment; then there is the metaphorical “waterfall” consisting of a bookcase that develops from the lounge to the corridor, leads to the children's and guests' rooms, floats up to the bedroom and forms a warehouse volume with a seating corner. The second element is a concrete and rectilinear volume that constitutes the other half of the apartment: starting from the entrance, it goes up to the main bedroom, retraces that of the guests and the room with the shower, the study and a closet. The result is that the spaces are connected in depth, and the open atmosphere is suitable for a family. The privacy space of the study and the bedroom for the couple is maintained by a sound insulation of the spaces obtained by means of a sliding door that completely separates the rooms. The floor is made of wood and gives warmth and depth to the house.
