Outside is Escherian architecture, composed of monochromatic volumes, inside is a succession of psychedelic immersive environments: the Mandala Pop-Up Digital Art Museum designed by One Take Architects provides temporary exhibition spaces that connect the urban center of Beijing with a utopian landscape. The sculptural arrangement of the abstract volumes, about 50 meters long and less than 10 meters wide, inside offers a surprising multimedia experience allowing visitors to find their own path. The complete lack of openings, combined with the optical effects of the projections, cause a disorientation, making visitors lose all sense of scale. The blocks that make up the temporary museum can be divided and reorganized into a new dkyil khor (mandala). Inspired by the Buddhist religion, the Mandala Pop-Up Digital Art Museum offers a spiritual and introverted experience in one of the most chaotic cities in the world.
