Ignacio Correa designed a dwelling that fits the topography, the existing vegetation, the distinctive elements of the landscape, the prevailing winds and the angles of incidence of the sun. Maitenes House is located near Lake Llanquihue, in southern Chile, and is isolated in the midst of open nature. The Chilean architect distributes the environments on two levels, clearly separating the public spaces from the sleeping area. The living room on the ground floor is thus almost completely free from internal partitions and open with large windows to the Chilean natural landscape, which is framed by the wooden frame of the house. The upper part is covered with corrugated sheet metal painted in dark grey, punctuated by square openings in the bedrooms.
