The DC.AD studio has renovated Academia das Ciências, an apartment in Lisbon for short-term rentals. The apartment was in a severe state of decay. The windows have been rescaled and made with a design similar to the original. The structure follows the perimeter of the walls. Subsequently, a rather high white and smooth plinth was applied to the walls, in contrast to the original rough walls. This plinth runs through the entire apartment and is camouflaged with the work table placed in the living room (which combines the living area and the sleeping area from a visual point of view). The rooms are so divided: a living room, two bathrooms and a kitchen. The bathrooms have finishes colored and an independent entrance. The separation of the spaces was made by panels, necessary to recreate the rooms without affecting the original structure.
