Receivers of the Young Architect of the Year Award in 2007 (organised by the magazine Building Design), Andy Groarke of London and Kevin Carmody of Australia joined forces in 2006 after both working for David Chipperfield. In Rome they will be creating an installation to demonstrate the spirit and character of their London practice. Their recent projects will be ordered in an unusual way, related to longevity. Starting with temporary pavilions destined to last just a few days (for the London Architecture Festival in 2008) or artistic installations (with Anthony Gormley, Julain Opie and Carsten Höller) up to the commemorative 7 July Memorial in Hyde Park, whose design life is 250 years.
